Trap Music Museum Guide + Trap City Cafe Review

In 2019, Atlanta’s own T.I. opened the Trap Music Museum. The Museum features rooms that paint a picture of the history that contributed to your favorite trap music artists and pays homage to the trap music culture. Here’s a quick guide to visiting the Trap Music Museum and a review of the Trap City Cafe.

Trap Museum Location

Located on the west side, at 630 Travis Street NW.

Trap Music Museum Tickets

The Trap Music Museum costs $20 to get in and $20 to park (at the time of this article). There is also an escape room where you can try to escape the trap for $30-$45. In 2022, Trap City Cafe opened, which I talk about later in this article.

Trap Music Museum Hours of operation:

Thursdays: 4 pm-9:00 PM
Fridays: 4 pm- 9 pm
Saturdays: 12 pm – 8 pm
Sundays 12 pm -6 pm

Although we purchased tickets, there was still a line/wait to get in. Once inside the Trap Music Museum,  you can view a curation of areas that include T.I.’s gun closet, rooms dedicated to Jeezy, Rick Ross, and Gucci Mane, a jail cell, 2 Chainz’s pink car/Trap House, the history of Trap Music music labels and more. There are paintings of artists, including the fallen Doe B, Bankroll Fresh, and Shawty Lo.

As a rare born and raised Atlanta (College Park, to be exact) native who still lives in Atlanta, I had to see this. I’ve only included a few photos so you can see the rest yourself!

There are various experiences for the Trap Music Museum, including Sip and Trap and Escape the Trap/Escape Room. The Escape Room runs daily and includes entry into the museum

Trap Museum Escape Room Hours

Mondays – Fridays: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Saturdays: 12:00 PM -8:00 PM

Sundays: 12:30 PM – 6 PM

The Escape Room tickets start at $35. There is an option for a private tour. You must book online; walk-ups are not accepted.

Sip and Trap Thursdays run from 4:30 pm-10 pm and allow for a reservation, so there typically is no wait in line. It includes Champagne.

Trap City Cafe

660 Northside Dr. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

Trap City Cafe is an extension of the museum, but is located on the corner of Travis St and Northside Dr. You would use the same parking lot that you would use for the museum.

I really enjoyed the vibe. However, I was taken aback by the cost to park is $20. I was charged the same as if I were going to the museum. I should not have to pay to then go into an expensive restaurant. The food was good, but I found out later that my SO paid hundreds of dollars for our bill, so something was expensive as it was just the two of us. The food was good; it came out at different times, which was odd for a meal. Friendly service, and the DJ was on point. We enjoyed the Karaoke.
